Lohan’s Life Imitates Art…or Does It? by Roxanne McDonald

Or is it the other way around? After seeing “Dirt” do a similar leak storyline, I am confused whether it is the thing to do or the thing to avoid…despite how much additional press it brings.

Lindsay Lohan was on Maxim’s Top 100 Beauties list—along with, in top nine order, respectively, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Biel, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, and Fergie. She’s also tops in the news—again—not so much for being in rehab at Promises but for having played knife games with a buddy over a year ago.

As TMZ tells it, “This week, year-old pictures featuring a knife-wielding Lindsay with Vanessa Minnillo were plastered all over the Internet and in the tabloids.” The pictures, TMZ staff confirmed, were “stolen from LiLo’s apartment–and sold to a UK tabloid!”

So LiLo, as Lindsay has evidently been dubbed, is getting knifed by a “frenemie”. [Gawd, can we reduce the English language any further?] And is not happy about the exposure. Neither is Lindsay’s rep pleased, conceding to how, he told TMZ, “Unfortunately, we live in a society where we allow stolen pictures to make a profit.” The rep said he/she couldn’t believe reputable mags would buy or print stolen pics, but suggested that if the offending persons wished to, they could “step up to the plate and donate the profits from their sale…,” which they would happily direct toward a charity, the rep said.

But then, where does the act begin and end? It would be so refreshing to find the lack of duplicity on all Lohan parts, PR people included. But then again, it would be a relief if no duplicity occurred to begin with. With that kind of thinking, however, I may as well resign myself to what could delude me as being fiction: TV shows and cartoons.
