An Article about Aniston and Acting…Imagine That by Roxanne McDonald

Imagine that, I thought to the self as I considered writing about Jennifer Aniston without focusing on who she is seeing, not seeing, or suffering over…. |
And there you have it, I found—amidst the articles about her leaving Vince, meeting and seeing Paul, and rumors of joining the adoption junket—news of awards and accolades that have something to do with her acting! Imagine that.
Celebrity Spider and others announce Jennifer Aniston’s win at the CineVegas Film Festival for the short film Room 10, which Anniston co-directed with Andrea Buchanan as a contribution to Glamour Magazine’s “Reel Moments” series and which won the CineVegas Nevada Short Film Jury Prize.
Also according to Celebrity Spider and others (Tatiana Siegel at Hollywood Reporter, et. al.), Aniston will also go into producing through Dream Works, using as her first choice a period musical entitled Goree Girls.
“Room 10”, starring Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson, involves the story of a nurse who channels her marital problems into working overtime…until she observes the relationship between a patient and the dutiful husband at the patient’s side (making the nurse, says Cinematical, revaluate her “notions of love and marriage”).
Goree Girls, which Aniston will co-produce with Kristin Hahn, will focus on the non-fictional account of eight Goree Prison inmates who before they were eventually pardoned form one of the first all-female Country & Western acts in the U.S. and develop a massive fan base following.
Aniston has developed quite a following herself—if at first for her hair and her self-involved Rachel Green character, then for her relationship with Brad Pitt, now, at least, for her talents in the dramatic.
About time.
