Lil Wayne Sells 1 Million Copies Of Tha Carter III in One Week
Talking about record breaking CD sales, rapper Lil Wayne will give his contributions.
Nielsen SoundScan reported that Lil Wayne’s newly release album, Tha Carter III, sold one million copies in its first week – making it the best-selling first week of a CD of 2008. Ron Williams, co-founder of Cash Money Records, told the Associated Press, “I’ve been saying a million all along, and I’ve been telling people, and they’ve been looking at me crazy.”
Lil Wayne is 25 years old and a native of New Orleans. He recently had a No. 1 hit with his single “Lollipop” and he also saw his last two CDs hit platinum, but not so quickly.
