Lara Croft Star Will Be Cornwell’s Novel Protagonist
Will Mrs. Pitt get another movie franchised? With the success of the Lara Croft franchised, Angelina Jolie was rumored to be cast on another movie franchised this time about Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the heroine of Patricia Cornwell’s best selling novel series.
Although there are 16 Scarpetta novels, this film won’t focus on a specific Cornwell title, Varity reports. Cornwell’s latest novel, simply titled Scarpetta, was published in December.
Kay Scarpetta is a beautiful, tough-as-nails forensic examiner, has a messy love life and a penchant for opera and Italian cooking. Before relocating to Massachusetts she was the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia.
Jolie has played several hard-edged characters in films such as Wanted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Gone in Sixty Seconds. If everything pans out, Scarpetta will be her second franchise, after the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider series.
Wow, I can’t wait to watch this film…Patricia Cornwell is one of my favorite authors and Angelina is one of my fave actresses.
Slumdog Millionaire Swept The Oscars 2009
Slumdog Millionaire swept the OScars by its feet defeating all the nominees in the Best Picture category including the Curios Case Of BEnjamin Button and The Reader. An underdog movie about a little guy overcoming life’s enormous obstacles swept the Oscars Sunday night, as Slumdog Millionaire racked up eight Academy Awards, including those for Best Picture and for its Director, Danny Boyle.
Sean Penn took the Best Actor award who said on his acceptance speech, “I did not expect this, and I know how hard I make it to appreciate me, often,” Penn said in his impassioned acceptance speech – in which he also acknowledged his fellow nominee, whose career had faded away in the ’90s. “Mickey Rourke rises again,” said Penn, “and he is my brother.”
Kate Winslet got the Best Actress award for her stint on the Reader. She confided to the audience in her acceptance speech that she first pretended to win an Oscar when she was 8 and looking in the bathroom mirror, holding a shampoo bottle.
Heath Ledger got a posthumous award for his role as the joker in the Dark Knight. And Penelope Cruz won an Oscar for best supporting actress for the very first time.
Angelina Jolie Pregnancy Update
Angelina Jolie’s pregnancy update. “Angelina Jolie will give birth in Nice,” announces the newspaper sign near the hospital where she is confined. The environment around the hospital is still the same for now. But it will change though. Only a few photographers run around nearby, only a single camera crew stood outside the main entrance Wednesday morning. But the scene will soon be far less sleepy, now that hospital spokeswoman Nadine Bauer has confirmed that Jolie’s doctor, Michel Sussmann, will address the media at 11:30 a.m. ET.
“Madame Jolie’s doctor will be updating her condition at the hospital and giving medical details,” said Bauer. “Madame Jolie is doing very well.” Jolie has even had a few vistors. Beau Brad Pitt dropped by with two special guests Wednesday: daughters Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.

Oprah Top Forbes Top 100 Celebrities
Oprah Winfrey, again top the list of Forbes Magazine Top 100 Celebrity list after she grabbed the title last year.
The magazine states that the Oprah has a power in “continuing to influence audiences around the world through her vast media empire, which earned her $275 million during the past year.”
Golf superstar, Tiger Woods ranked a close second with $115 million, making him the highest-earning athlete in the world.
Outstanding celebrity couples Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z made strong showings on the list, with the ladies pulling ahead of their man. Jolie came out above partner Pitt, who rounded out the Top 10. And, singer Knowles edged out her new husband.
Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, and the Jonas Brothers were among those who claimed spots in the new “tween” category. Other noticeable newcomers include The Hills star Lauren Conrad and Sex and the City‘s Sarah Jessica Parker, who’s been all the buzz since her show’s big screen success.

Well, the other half of Brangelina has yet encountered another rumor. Angelina Jolie is pregnant with her second biological child! Oh, just a rumor and not yet confirmed by the couple. But during the Screen Actor Guild’s Award last night, Angelina wore a flowing golden dress that can easily hide any kind of stomach bump. Speaking of fueling the rumors.

I felt embarrassed immediately after my first discussion of the split being nothing more than an actual physical departure by Angie so she could do her new movie—because I then read the latest issue of Life and Style, which showed all kinds of points toward Angie and Brad breaking up for real.
Then…The news after that featured a pic of Brad and Angelina having a romantic dinner in Prague.
Now, the latest buzz is some weird-ass thing about how Angie is leaving Brad for Sanjaya.
Oh, for God’s sake. Stick with the truth or quit embellishing or leave these two humans (beauties, newsworthy, but humans nonetheless, eh?) alone.

In a Star World Exclusive (April 30th issue), writers Jennifer Pearson and Roger Hitts discuss how Jolie and Pitt are “cracking under the strain of their relationship,� and are facing a separation—a trial separation.
Angie purportedly decided to be a stay-at-home mom once the couple adopted baby Pax, but within only a few weeks of the blessed event has packed to head off to Prague, where the mega-star will be filming the new action thriller, Wanted (with Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy).
Further, sources tell Pearson and Hitts, the original plan on Angie’s part was to pack up the four kids and two nannies. But Brad resisted that idea, supposedly especially attached to Shiloh (while Angie maintains “Zahara and Maddox are supreme,� says the unidentified source.
But the clear truth is that they are separating physically, geographically—not necessarily emotionally. The implications are that because Angie changes things up, switches plans, and etc., and because Brad is stressed (though “going with the flow�), the highest profile people in Hollywood to date are considered to be treating this temporary distancing as a trial separation.
Levine Breaking News, however, on April 25, reported how Jolie has filed papers to have Pitt’s name legally added to the adoption documents, giving little Pax the hyphenated surname, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.
Also according to TMZ on April 24, Jolie has made the decision to give mutual adoption status to Pitt for Pax—as he has for the other two adopted kids, Zahara and Maddox, and as he has taken the role of parenting Shiloh, whom Jolie gave birth to in May of 2006…so the names are the same for all four children.
So all this is sort of interesting—about as engaging, though, as how the paparazzi and press follow Angie’s allegedly dwindling weight. What is more intriguing, however, besides Jolie’s acting in blockbuster hits, is how much of a humanitarian the celebrity is—not for pictures or posturing but for personal needs to serve humankind.
